Our tumbling program at Power Athletics is designed to take athletes of all ages and skill levels on a structured journey from their very first forward roll to elite-level twisting. Whether your child is just starting out in Level 1A or training advanced layouts and fulls in our elite levels, they will find a supportive and high-energy environment that challenges them to reach their highest potential. Tumbling Class Options

Tumbling Level 1A

(Ages 5+)

Tumbling Level 1A serves as the foundational starting point for athletes who are eager to begin their journey in tumbling. This class is specifically structured for beginners with no prior experience, focusing on developing total body awareness, coordination, and the fundamental strength required for all future skills. Students work through a curriculum that emphasizes mastering the perfect shape and technique for basic movements such as forward and backward rolls, handstands, cartwheels, and bridges. Our coaches prioritize a supportive and encouraging atmosphere, ensuring that every athlete builds the confidence and core stability needed to eventually progress into more advanced walkovers and combinations.

Tumbling Level 1B

(Ages 5+)

Tumbling Level 1B is designed for athletes aged five and up who have successfully mastered the basics from our introductory level and are ready to refine their technique. This class focuses on moving beyond isolated skills toward more fluid progressions, with a heavy emphasis on achieving powerful round-offs and consistent back and front walkovers. Our instructors place a high priority on body control and proper form, utilizing specific drills that build the necessary shoulder and core strength to prepare athletes for back handsprings. By mastering these intermediate shapes and movements, students develop the solid foundation and technical precision required to safely transition into power tumbling.

Tumbling Level 2A

(Ages 5+)

Tumbling Level 2A is the perfect next step for athletes aged five and up who have mastered their foundational shapes and are ready to tackle the exciting challenge of handsprings. This class focuses heavily on the technical transition from walkovers to power skills, specifically targeting the development of both standing and running back handsprings. By combining specialized technique-focused drills with hands-on professional spotting, we ensure that every athlete builds the necessary strength and body control to execute these skills with confidence. Our goal is to move beyond just completing the move, focusing instead on achieving the clean form and safe landing habits required for long-term success in tumbling.

Tumbling Level 2B

(Ages 5+)

Tumbling Level 2B is specifically designed for athletes who have already achieved a solid, independent back handspring and are eager to take their power to the next level. This class focuses on the transition from single skills to dynamic combinations, helping students master multiple handsprings and the essential round-off back handspring connection. Our coaches emphasize the explosive power and technical precision needed for high-level tumbling while introducing flip prep drills to ensure every athlete is physically and technically ready for future flips and tucks.

Tumbling Level 3B

(Ages 5+)

Tumbling Level 3B is designed for advanced athletes who have mastered their back handspring series and are ready to take flight with tucks and more complex aerial skills. This class focuses on the technical precision required for powerful round-off back handspring tucks, while also working on standing back handspring series to tucks. Our coaching staff emphasizes height and rotation control, utilizing specialized drills to ensure students transition safely from horizontal power to vertical elevation. By focusing on core engagement and explosive leg drive, we help athletes build the confidence and technique necessary to execute clean, high-level tucks both in running passes and standing combinations.

Tumbling Level 2B

(Ages 5+)

Tumbling Levels 4-6 are reserved for our most elite athletes who have mastered their tucks and are ready to tackle advanced aerial maneuvers and complex twisting. This class focuses on high-level skills including layouts, full-twisting layouts, and double fulls, as well as specialized combination passes that showcase elite power and control. Our coaching staff utilizes advanced spotting techniques and specific air-awareness drills to help athletes safely navigate the complexities of twisting and flipping at high speeds. With an emphasis on precision, landing technique, and explosive energy, this level is designed to challenge even the most experienced tumblers as they perfect the technical mastery required for collegiate-level or competitive elite tumbling.
